Check for spark by pulling a plug wire from the spark plugs or coil packs.. Simply remove the plug or coil pack wire and install a spark testor to it. If the tester shows a bluish light to it then the car has spark. The fuel is usually tedsted with a fuel pressure gauger that is attached to the fiting at the fuel rail. if thee is a pressure raedinfg on the gauge the the fuel pump is working Alsio use an elctric lioght to tedt the electric fuel injecttor. Thisa is called a noid light. if the light is full and bright then that fuel injector ius good, The car electrical or charging system should also be be checked. Start by testing the battey with the engine off. The battery voltage shoulkd be arounrd 12 volts. Next the alternator shoiuld be tested to see if it is charging. The engine should be stated and the multimeter shoulkd be put on the battery posts. If the reading is between 14 qnd 15 volts the alternator is charging the starting system Also on teting for fuel spray some stating fluid form an aerosol spay can into the intake of the car. This woukd tell you if the fuel pump was bad. Finally if all of the prevoios test wer ok use a scan tool to see if the PCM is om or what codes if any it gives, These are the basic steps in DIY auto troubleshooting.
